Iv tried different settings to capture stars but I get the stars but I don't get the blackness of the sky any ideas pls

Since you didn't tell the model number Nikon.
we can't give an accurate answer.
If your camera has a Manual mode, that is a good start.

Leaving the (electronic or other) shutter open on digital cameras may get you some star shots but as time passes the noise in the sensor accumulates as well. If you hit the star watcher forums you should see this come up very quickly on topic.

In short, you won't get black as you expose longer.
