night time video

Im in a rather intresting pickle. I have for the past few weeks tried to find a camcorder that is best for night time shots. I plan to do some fireworks video for the 4th of july as well as some video of a local halloween event. I was wondering if anyone knew of which camcorder was the best for this type of situation. I looked at some of the infered type things but I don't want to end up with nothing but green and black video so any suggestions?
