A number of computer users have made it a hobby or personal mission to strike back against the fraudsters responsible for the famous 419 Nigerian e-mail fraud. In a practice known as 'scam-baiting,' users respond to the fraudulent e-mails in hopes of identifying or humiliating the scammers. Over 150 websites chronicle the results of scam-baiters. "Mike", who runs the 419eater.com website, refuses to cooperate with the scammers unless they send him a picture of themselves holding a sign with his name, proving they are real people. This way, Mike got pictures of scammers holding signs identifying themselves by names with adult themes. Another baiter "Alexander Kerensky" managed to lure a scammer in front of a webcam in Amsterdam.
