Question

nextbook 8

Mar 8, 2015 12:09PM PDT

My dad just bought the nextbook 8 tablet tonite. He just mainly does ebay browsing and youtubing. Well when you open the youtube app and search a video it takes a bit to load then you get about 7 seconds in and the spinning loading thing comes up then wait and about 5 seconds later the same thing. It's brand new, it's connected to our wifi. I googled around and found another person saying to update youtube app, which I did and nothing yet. Any tips?

Thanks

Answer
This looks to be the Windows 8 1GB RAM tablet.

It's barely there for such work. Buffering will be the norm here. I don't expect it to be on par with a 4+GB common laptop.

Folk complain about the cheaper tablets a lot.

For a little more we got a Chromebook that worked far better. Sorry but your complaint isn't the first or the last. Let's be clear, these things are very low end and don't compare well with the better tablets but they hit a price mark.

You know that a Kindle Fire does come in about 99 bucks and works far better.

Are they sold in stores or just on amazon? Im not a tablet person so i dont know lol he went to walmart to get one cuz he didnt wanna wait on one to be shipped here. He had an old view sonic tablet that lasted him about 5 years. Whats some specs i should look in a tablet for him? Just so he can browse online some and ebay are the 2 main things he does.

Thanks

PS. Something worth a look.

The office is looking at the Blu 6 inch phone. I got one from the office without cell service and made a few over the internet voice calls, can text over the internet plus it seems pretty fast. It's about 150 though. I charged it up last week, unplugged Friday to see how the battery holds up with little use and today it's at 90% which is better than expected.

Link to what the office supplied: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PYWQ7R4/

It came with a rubber case, etc and IMO an alternative to tablets.
