Question

NEX Adapters A mount to E mount

Feb 9, 2014 9:47AM PST

Hi all, I have a NEX 5, and was looking at getting an adapter so I can add some A mount lenses. Does anyone know if the specific qualities of the lenses (i.e. image stabalization, autofocus) are carried over to the NEX when hooked up through the adapter? I am looking at adding a 300mm A mount lens but want to make sure all the qualities will still work when hooked up through an adapter...

thanks for the feedback!

The Sony LA-EA4 A-mount adapter will allow you to use A-mount lenses with full functionality. The drawback is that the adapter is very large. It is also expensive at $350.

Reports still note some lens don't work with this fully.

As asked "ant to make sure all the qualities will still work when hooked up through an adapter..." so it's a bigger question than most. That is, each lens would have to be tested to see if it all works.

Given the usual "workaround" I think the answer is simply no. That is, not all qualities are expected to work with these.
