You should be able to use System Restore to restore your system to the date or time before you installed the offending program. Just remember that anything that you installed on that day or time will be trashed when you reboot your system.

Windows Me System Restore

HOW TO: Restore the Operating System to a Previous State in Windows XP

After doing the above, download and install Spybot-S&D or Ad-aware. After installation, update the programs first to take advantage of new and improved detections (if any). Scan your system. This 2 programs should take care of the spyware is inside your system.

Hope the above will help. Good luck Happy

Try AdAware, Spybot or the new.net uninstall program from new.net first (they have 4 uninstall procedures of which only 1 is "add/remove programs"). AdAware and Spybot might detect other "gifts" from iMesh as well.

You can always get a virus in p2p if...

you download executable files. If Kazaalite has an option to refuse dangerous file extensions, then that should help a lot. Always scan all downloaded files with up-to-date virus defs before opening them.

Technically, newdotnet isn't a virus. It's adware/spyware and is detected/removed by AdAware and Spybot.
