It took me a while to get registered and figure out how to get around the new setup, but I'm finally here. Quite a different look, but I can live with it lol.

Hello back! Sheese, it sure wasn't easy getting here. Had all kinds of registration problems but I finally made it. Had to change my name from ZD Net forums (I was lib san there) to Libby2 for here.

Aww,thank you so much.I'm kinda "old"but I'm still a "newbie",only been using a computer for a few years;but,I cannot fix them, and really take the software apart, and fix it.Just a "user",is all,not a Nerd. This is a site full of pretty nice people, intelligent, pretty nice of you all to be so helpful and friendly,I'm 59,so we "boomers"are coming to computers late in life.

Wonderful, though, aren't they?Einstein would defintely approve.(so would my dad,who was in electronics.)Like I tell my young computer repairman, sometimes, you younger people have a great, interesting world in the new computers;fantastic!!!

In reply to: "Welcome to Newbies"

Are you aware that this thread is 3 1/2 YEARS old... Look at the dates on the posts... The thread was created shortly after we changed forum software..

We're always happy to have new newbies but you really had to do some digging in the old stuff to find this one.

Welcome.

Grif

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
