Newbie without a clue--please help a sister out!

Jul 26, 2007 3:00PM PDT

I just switched over from a PC to a MacBook and would greatly appreciate help with either of the following:

1 Downloading fonts
2 How to get the Mac to recognize my Creative Zen mp3 player (I tried to download a program called XNJB but was unable to do so)

Thank you so much!

Fonts:
1. Insert the disc that contains the new font, or copy the font to your hard disk from another location.
2. Double-click the icon for the font in the Finder. Font Book opens and displays the font so you can see what the font looks like.
3. Click Install Font.
You're done.

The XNJB program should work for you but will you will not be able to access all of the functionality of the player. Does your player appear on the desktop when you insert it into the USB slot?
what problem do you have with XNJB?

If you frequently load fonts.

... you can drag the Font Book icon to your dock and keep it there. Then you can just take any freshly downloaded font folder and drag it onto the Font Book icon to open and load it.

With new fonts, I usually use the File > Validate Font/File option to see ahead of time if there may be any problems using the particular font on a mac. Most load with no problem but a selct few novelty fonts may not work well.
