newbie, what do i need

i would like to be able to play dvd on my computer and watch them on my tv, the same with my mp3 files, downloaded videos, and streaming (possible access the internet from my tv if not to expensive. i would also like to be able to burn dvds from tivo on my computer dvd burner. any suggestions on what i need? is it possible and not prohibitivly expensive?
