Newbie question: Galaxy Tab S3 home page

I've messed up the home page on my Galaxy. I suppose one solution is to restore it to the default setting -- is there a way to do that?

In particular: The "Settings" icon is now the only item on a second panel. The first panel has an empty slot, and I'd like to move "Settings" there and delete the second panel.

The manual says: "To move [an item] to another panel, drag it to the side of the screen." Doing that doesn't work for me -- it hovers at the side of the screen, and when I let go, it bounces back.

What am I doing wrong?

Then add it to your home screen again. Forget moving....

I see the "Settings Shortcut" item under Widgets (panel 8), but I don't know how to add it to the home screen.

Ah, found it! Thanks!

I needed to install the one under "Apps," not "Widgets."

Thanks for your help.
