Such things do work. But I feel the expectations of a 99 buck all in one printer/fax/copier to last past a few years without problems much less any maintenance to be what most are complaining about.

Hi, I'm quite new to this forum. I need some info regarding multifunction printers. Based on my experience, they pretty much suck. But I really need a stand alone fax and a descent photo printer.
What do you all suggest? I'm only willing to spend $250 the most. I read many reviews and there are many conflicting opinions between editors and users. Many editors gave a few HP multifunction printers good reviews but most of the users reviews told that HP printers are really bad (not dependable, etc). The only 2 I found those have good editors and users review are Epson and the Dell 962. Epson however lack of fax feature, so I'm more toward Dell 962.
What do you all think? Anyone own Dell 962? Any other suggestions? Oh, I use only HP and Compaq computer and notebook (Window XP Home and Pro) but I doubt they have anything to do with the printer brand, right?
