Buying a DSLR camera is a win win proposition.
When it comes to rating DSLR cameras, there is little difference between any of the brands of cameras.
The December 2008 issue of Consumer Reports magazine rated a large number of DSLR cameras.
They rated the Pentax K200D and K20D as "very good"
They rated the Nikon D80 as "very good".
Note: The D90 is the new replacement for the D80.
I would assume it would rate the same.
No DSLR was rated better than "very good" (the next highest rating would be "excellent").
So, you now have a fine tool for taking pictures.
It is up to you and your wife to take some memorable photographs.
Hello all. My wife and I are not new to taking pictures, but are new to DSLR cameras. She has wanted to upgrade for a while now, and for christmass I got her a Pentax K20. The question I had is one of her facebook friends has a Nikon D90 and she loves the pictures it takes, will the Pentax be as good?? I chose the pentax for a couple of reasons one being the weather proof ability, and the other the lens selection and pricing. As I have said I am COMPLETELY new to cameras any technical info given will need a bit of an explanation.
Thanks in advance
