NEWBIE here-How do you delete a network /Server??

Aug 23, 2005 7:30AM PDT

I created a network and i get a error message on my XP Home Edition PC that the network has detected two networks with the same name . I tried to fix it by renaming the network on the Mac but screwed up and now i have all these folders and they do not connect to the server. How do i delete the network on the pc and start over.-artchick

Just one thing.

The way Microsoft did this will annoy new users. If you wait awhile (days even) the server, when it's gone will mystically vanish on its own.

Hope this helps.

It disappears eventually. How b/c it is not in use or when? I just want to delete it?

Yup. No one does either.

It's a mystery why they did that. Give it time and the Network Nieghborhood will forget the old server and show your new one.

In closing, there are no plans to fix this one.

Cheers,

I see your post in the Mac forum, but you didn't seem to reveal as much as when I put both of your posts together. I'll write a note to Macfixit about this.
