That should be a reminder to never deal with a total stranger. There are several sources of customer feedback to identify the legit from the scum. There area lot of fine online merchants. There are certainly several good ones from New York City.
And a reinforcement to automatically be skeptical of prices lower than all the rest. You don't have to deal with anyone you can not verify. Why anyone does venture to deal for absolute lowest price? Don't volunteer for troubles when you don't have to. Learn to recognize the bad merchants. There are perfectly good ones out there, too
Pay attention to today's (June 29) C/NET Digital Dispatch. Article in Crave Corner by David Katzmaier about $755,000 in fines to some chronic bait 'n switch firms from Brooklyn.
