Most computers have one USB port that is the "master". This one has the largest amount of available voltage. Some add-ons need this port, wile most will work on any port. I am surprised that a camera would need too much juice, but.....
So I purchased this webcam for $5 from a local $5 or less store, and it works fine on one of my 3 USB ports.
I have a Toshiba Satellite L455 laptop, which has one USB port on the left and two on the right. For some reason, my webcam only works on the left USB port. Everything else works fine on the other two ports (mouse, flash drives, etc...). I have no clue why the webcam doesn't work on those two ports. I already tried updating the USB port drivers, but there were no new drivers available.
The webcam is model "49052", if that helps.
Thanks!
