New TV for dorm room-500-700$ MAX

Jul 26, 2005 6:16PM PDT

Hello i am looking into buying a new TV very soon for college coming up this fall.
I did some research.
What i want-
*HDTV Tuner Built-in
*26"-32"
*Widescreen
*Component and S-video of course

And that is all i can think of for right now.

So far i have these TV's picked out...

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7045431&type=product&productCategoryId=cat03003&id=1099396991028

Well really that is the only one i found in stores near me...
I've heard of this Sanyo 30" widescreen HDTV with built-in tuner all around on the internet from walmart.com...there is a thread about it on here too, and I have heard many good things about it. Only problem is Wal-mart doesn't sell it anymore. At Wal-mart I did however find a 28" widescreen sanyo, I believe it was the exact same kind, just 28" instead.

So I guess what I am asking you is...
#1. Do you have a different suggestion for me? (a different TV)
#2. Which TV out of the 2 i supplied (26" widescreen from bestbuy or the 28" sanyo from walmart) would be best?
#3. Any other comments/suggestions for have for me is appreciated, I am pretty knew to all this TV stuff.

Thank you very very much, it is much appreciated.

The first one for $569 is a HDTV monitor no HDTV tuner.
The second one for$399 is a HDTV it has a HDTV tuner in it. There is a $170 price difference. Now my guess is the $569 is last years model. Since the FCC was forced to drop the broadcast flag, DHTV sets are now comming with DHTV tuners in them. The $399 one is this years model. Check out Samsung's web site. I'm not fimilar with eather of the companies, so check them out before you buy. John

Now i don't mean to question you because you obviously know more than i do...but the 569$ model is the same one i saw at Circuitcity and the guy there said it had an HDTV tuner built in and it said absolutely nothing about being a monitor on it nor does it on the website i supplied.
''Features Built-in HDTV Tuner (ATSC/NTSC''
Quoted from the website.
I don't know if i am just misunderstanding something here or what, help is appreciated, thanks.
