And they will not agree this is a good setup. Speaker position and direction matter in almost every system from stereo to 7.1.
Maybe your setup would be ceiling mounts like https://www.amazon.com/VideoSecu-Universal-Satellite-Brackets-Ceilings/dp/B002WN1GOW/ so you can at least get some options on position and direction.
The Polk 80 at https://www.amazon.com/Polk-Audio-RC80i-Ceiling-Speakers/dp/B00006BMQT is a best seller but in ceiling, so far, I would not call that a good experience for surround setups. Maybe it's fine for ambient sound and music.
I just bought a new home and paid for the surround sound pre wiring since the living room is downstairs of a two story townhome...they wired all 5 speaker locations in the ceiling
I thought the front and center would be elsewhere....
What are the best speakers for this set up? I was thinking of using polk 80 for front rear and 255c-rt for the center...weird its in the ceiling though...
