Hello all, I m not sure what has happened, so I welcome and need all your suggestions.

Ive got an A55-S3061, Centrino 1.5 256mb 40gb Intel 32 mb shared video. XP Pro SP1 with all non-SP 2 updates, Nortons AV, Ad-aware. Was using CA's firewall (Zone Alarm Pro), then switched to XP firewall to attempt diagnosis. No noticiable change.

S l o w, web pages take 30 seconds to load on LAN or Wireless, numerous error / debug messages, outlook office consistently reports undelivered messages when messages have been delivered, All programs are slow including boot and shut down. modem dials but wontload from server, start items load intermittantly.

Is there a command i need to give it? Have I missed something?

The unit is days old. Ive scanned disk, defraged, ran Nortons. No strange software installed or bad sites visited. Battery and video are great. Thanks again and happy days to all!

Did you use Internet Explorer? Such can allow PARASITES onto the machine which your antivirus doesn't deal with.

Install FIREFOX, then scan the machine with Adaware, Spybot and Housecall. All free tools.

Hi PaulAtlanta,is your start-up slow?if so try,run type msconfig go to starup and disable all but the most essential programs at start-up,beware!'if in doubt dont'attempt this.Go to Symantechs Site and run their free AV/diagnostic suite.PC Pitstop is very helpfull for machine diagnostics.I use both Norton AV & Internet security 2003 which will stop most attacks,Adaware & Spybot will pick-up what slips past Norton.Try downloading MS Baseline Security Analizer 1.2.1 & running a full set of tests.Oulook on my PC is realy naff since installing SP2,I have changed to Mozilla Thunderbird which is vgood.Do you have your OS CD's & other software? if all else fails you could try a 'clean install'.

Regards Tinkerman.
