New to XBox 360

I was wondering if the circle on box and the controller needs to be filled in? In other words does the entire circle need to be lit up? I only have 1/4 of the circle and it is green. Just got it out of the box and plugged it in for the first time. I have heard about orange and red circles/lights, but never 1/4 of the circle in any color. I just want to make sure it is working properly. Hope this makes since. Thanks for your help.

No. The green quadrant lights just indicate how many controllers are currently connected to the system. You can have up to 4 with the 360. If you only have the upper left light lit, that just means you only have controller #1 connected. If you look at the controller, there's a big button right in the middle that should match what you see on the 360 itself, and also have the quadrants numbered.

So long as the lights are green, you've got nothing to worry about. If they change to orange or red, then you've got problems.
