Glad to hear that IE 5.17 worked a little for you.
Now, all you have to do is find it so that you can create an alias/shortcut on the desktop.
Hold down the Apple Key (Next to the space bar) and press the "F" key.
In the resulting dialog, enter Internet Explorer and click the search button.
It will turn up a few of them. The one you are looking for is in a folder called Internet Explorer 5.17 (it's the one you downloaded). Inside the folder will be the application Internet Explorer. At the bottom of the window it will show you exactly where the program is. Go there by double clicking on the HD and working your way down the hierarchy to the IE folder and the IE application. Once there, SINGLE click the application and go to the File Menu and "Make Alias" The alias will be created in the same folder as the original. Drag it onto the desktop. Close all the windows. Double click the alias and you should be surfing.
Good Luck

Just got this used Mac and it has 9.1 OS on it, the previous owner says he got from the internet. This computer likely has all kinds of info, programs and files that would never use or want . So I was wondering if loading OS9 to get a fresh start would be a good idea. Will I have driver, loading or other problems etc.? I am using a borrowed PC at the moment to communicate this message.
The Mac is a 9600/200 and it has two hardrives, that is about all I know about it. I am having trouble navigating around on the Mac because it is so different and possibly because of some data, files or functions removed by the fellow who gave it to me.
Any and all help would be Really Appreciated. Thanks
