Question

New to iMac running Lion.

Sep 18, 2011 11:54AM PDT

When OS10.2 prints in Firefox, first page is desired large font size. Subsequent pages small font. Using Canon Pixma MP560. Safari prints fine. Problem with Firefox only. Prefer because Safari will not display web page in preferred font.

OS 10.2 was a version of OS X from a considerable number of years back.

Answer
A possible workaround

A possible workaround would be to use the "Save to PDF" button on the print dialog box. Then you can go and print the PDF of the site.

But given Safari seems to work fine, it's probably an issue with FF, and you'll just have to wait to see if it's fixed by FF7. The good news is that the accelerated release system Mozilla has adopted means FF7 should probably be out in a month or so. Think they're already up to Beta 5 or 6, and usually there's something along the lines of 7-8 betas, then 1-2 RCs before the final release.

Firefox has a stable version 6.0.2

However, under Lion, it sometimes displays glitches. I would fully trust only version 5 right now. FF 7 is a beta currently. The suggestion about print as PDF seems to be a good one. To be sure that you get what you want using this option click on "open PDF in Preview". Then Preview will display the resulting PDF. If satisfied, print from Preview or go to "save as PDF" (see post above) and then print that saved file from Adobe Reader or Preview.
