I'm new to this whole world of hdtv. I have recently scouted out what is available at my local costco and elsewhere. Someone told me that if you buy a DLP or Plasma tv, expect to replace some tube or other every 3 years for about $500. Is this true?
I also saw a great 43 inch Panasonic LCD rear projection hd monitor for about $1500. Are there issues I don't know about with LCD tv's as well. As you can tell I am somewhat lost. I want to buy a 42 inch hdtv with a physical depth of less than 14 inches This is unfortunately an issue because of my entertainment center configuration. Can anyone help he who is wandering in the hdtv forest maze?
P.S. Can I use a monitor TV or do I have to buy one with a built in card of some sort? I'm afraid I need to be educated so please aim me in the right direction.
Thanks to anyone who takes the time to help me.

The Samsung RF23M8090SG

One of the best French door fridges we've tested

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
