Question

New SSD/OS won't recognize GFX Card

Oct 19, 2014 10:42AM PDT

I currently have a HDD with Windows 7 and a radeon 7950 GFX card that works perfectly. I just installed a new SSD and a fresh copy of Windows 7. The new SSD/Windows 7 is fully updated but it will not recognize my GFX card. It only recognizes the onbarod graphics.

Can anyone give me any ideas on where to start or what the issue might be?

Also, I tried to install the newest ATI drivers but when I got to the select folder screen to install the data, it told me the path was invalid.

Please let me know what other information might be helpful. Thank!

Also, the HDD is still hooked up to the motherboard with Windows 7 installed. (Not sure if this will impact anything)

Windows does that. After the OS is installed not only do you deal with video drivers but many times the motherboard and a dozen other things. Think over how you got it working before. Repeat those steps.
