new sony xr-500v strange upload problem

by scg66 / November 1, 2009 9:44 AM PST

Just purchased the high def xr-500v camcorder but encountered a weird problem...anybody ever hear of this...when trying to upload video to pc, the videos would not store properly (could not be retrieved)and instead stored "moff" and "modd" files (whatever they are?)randomly and repeatedly intermingled with all our years of photo files. Also, still photos randomly captured by the camera that we did not take appear to be stored randomly in a file as well. It's like the camera has a mind of it's own!
I can only figure at this point that it could be a capability issue with windows or vista. When I checked back at the store the tech guy never heard of anything like it.
