New Software Problems

Apr 12, 2005 5:09PM PDT

I just wondered if anyone else has run into this:
I discovered that I can't reinstall my Windows XP Upgrade and Norton System Works 2005. They both say that I have reached the maximum number that they can be installed. They are both legal and I haven't change machines.....
Also I had some trouble with Quicken 2005, so I contacted their Tech support, they had me click on install and create a 32 bit code. I had to read the code back to them and in return they gave me another 32 bit code that reactivated it. This was a real challenge trying to understand people from India over a cheesy phone line, but I guess all of the Techs have left the United Sates, Anyways they told me that I would have to do this when I uninstalled the software also. That way I could only install it on no more than two computers. I figured that when I purchased the software I had it for the life of my computer. My previouse computer was formatted over 100 times, removing a lot of Web programs that I tried out. I just guess times have changed.......
It would be nice if they would put this on their package before you decided to purchased it!
