New site design, finding forums, and navigating downloads

Sep 10, 2008 10:37AM PDT

Although the new design is some what "ok".
It's quite a bit plain, but more importantly,
The forums are a bit hard to locate, sitting down on the bottom
of the page, they should be easy to find,
and they should be "Sucking" people in to use them, letting people
know they are there, at the top or side like they used to be.

They left out alot of things that I know were used
and definitely handy where they were and the way they were
in the old design.
Now you have to click, click, to see some information at downloads
and just wierd stuff.
"They" know what I am talking about so I am not going to make a big
Ol' technical list or anything out of this.
I think this should be sufficient, almost like the way the site was
designed. Lol.
Still Gotta Love CNET.
My most frequently used areas are, Reviews, Downloads, and the forums.

New format on downloading is terrible

Why did they change the format for downloading? I can see it may have been their intention to give a "better shot" to the smaller guys who don't get massive download traffic, but I found the ability to sort by number of downloads very valuable. There is truth behind the masses and when it has reached critical mass with few naysayers and high marks, that's a program I want. Now I have to sort out additional programs that may be less useful. Please add this sorting feature back CNET.

Thanks!

That functionality is still there...

Whether you're searching download.com or browsing a predefined product category, you can sort by Editor's Rating, User's Rating, Total Downloads, or Downloads This Week, among other statistics by selecting the one you want from the drop-down menu just above the results.
