New Samsung Series 3 NP300U1A-A01US

by tazcat2010 / August 10, 2011 8:23 AM PDT

Hey Everyone,

I just picked this machine from Staples and am having one small issue

The += key is swapped with the _- key. I dont know if this a BIOS issue or manufacturing issue.

I called Samsung and the Tech tried to help but offered to do a full reinstall but I declined. not that big of a deal. Other than that the machine is awesome and probably the best net book/ultra book for the $$ i have seen. Just wondering if anyone else is having this problem.

Hi R. Profitt

Keyboard is set to English (US) and Keyboard is US. Strange thing is that it only appears to be these two keys.

Hi Bob,

I appreciate your help.

Yes the layout is 1234567890 but then is =/+ -/_. I tried the MSDN fix but that did not work. I mapped the keys as they were supposed to be and installed the file but it did'nt do anything. It may be the way I loaded it but not sure.

Look at other keyboards and you see the key tops are swapped. You have some choices. I'd head back to the store and exchange it.

Don't believe me? See the picture at:

Bob
PS. Glad to see it's something simple.
