you really do not have to worry about the ports if you do the wireless charging thing. just lay the phone on the charging pad.
After giving Samsung a chance twice (s3 & s5), I'd finally given up on them. Got an iPhone 6s plus recently.
The Galaxy just never measured up to the iPhone's photo quality to me,l. Neither did their slow motion option. But the most annoying problem I had with both Samsungs was the charger port/ charger cord. It would Always go loose eventually and I'd have to jiggle/ hold it in place to charge. Good riddance!
Hope for everyone else's sake they fixed those issues.
