New problems with Internet explorer and Norton

by santhoshv / April 21, 2004 7:26 AM PDT

I just got my Sony laptop back from being fixed (cooling system replaced), and now Internet Explorer isn't working right. I'm unable to go to many pages, getting "The page cannot be displayed" error. I can't figure out why this is the case.

Also, my Norton Systemworks isn't working properly now; it's disabled and won't let me activate it.

Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks.

I don't know about Norton System works but after many years of using Norton Internet Security The 2004 release is nothing but problems until I changed to another Anti Virus & Fallwall. I have had no problems since.

Have you tried doing a system restore? If that isn't an option or doesn't fix the problem, try uninstalling Norton and reinstalling it. You can also try doing a repair of Internet Explorer.

Unlike other posters, I've had Norton's antivirus programs for years running on a variety of computers and no problems.

For IE, check your security settings. For Norton Systemworks, uninstall then reinstall.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
