by Mark5019 / September 7, 2006 11:35 AM PDT

majority of Canadians believe U.S. foreign policy was one of the root causes that led to the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, and Quebecers are quicker to criticize the U.S. administration for its international actions than other Canadians, a recent poll suggests Those conclusions are found in a newly released poll conducted by L

Quebecers are quicker to criticize the U.S....

I'd like to think that it's not true...
by EdH / September 7, 2006 1:25 PM PDT
''There are a lot of people who think we should be listening closely [to extremist groups] and that there is an opportunity to dialogue with these sort of groups,'' said Jedwab Wednesday. ''So it is showing a real ideological divide on some of these issues.''

Only idiots believe there is anything to be gained by ''dialogue'' with people who essentially want to kill you. Are these Canadians planning to convert to Islam and give up their Western lifestyle? If not, forget it; they are on the kill list.

It's a shame that the majority of Canadians are fools, if this is really true.

That may be one of the dumbest things....

...I've heard anyone say in a very long time.

Dialogue? Here's how it would probably go:

JEDWAB: Let's chat. I want to try to understand why you feel the way you do about us.

I have a suggestion
by TONI H / September 7, 2006 11:28 PM PDT

Every LEADER of countries who really believe that DIALOGUE with terrorists/extremists will work and solve all the problems and stop the suicide bombings and beheadings and killings of innocents in various ways SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO ALL GATHER TOGETHER IN ONE PLACE, INVITE THE TERRORISTS TO SIT DOWN AND HAVE A DIALOGUE.....

Now, knowing that suicide bombings is a way of life for all those many of those country leaders ready to TALK will WALK OUT OF THAT LOCATION ALIVE????

Maybe if they had to put their own personal lives on the line instead of innocents for a change, they would realize that you can't talk your way out of an execution when somebody hell bent on killing your sorry a.. has another agenda entirely.

They'd realize the value of feigning cooperation to allow their proxies to return to their respective nations and further weaken the civilized world.

Must have been a purely Quebec poll. English Canada
by Ziks511 / September 9, 2006 2:10 AM PDT

already voted by sending troops to Afghanistan. Next rotation of forces will be the Quebec based Royal 22nd Regiment, nicknamed the Van Doo's since that's almost how you pronounce 22 in french. It is a much decorated (2 World Wars and Korea) and well respected Regiment who should do well there.

Would it be inappropriate to point out that the Canadians have lost as many men to American "friendly" fire, both ground and air, as they have in combat?

many Canadian butts (lives) have been saved by American "friendly" fire.

But, then you've already posted the former without the latter. So, why did you bother to ask?
