NEW PC WITH VISTA

Oct 13, 2007 2:38PM PDT

Hello
I just bought a new laptop but do not have it as of yet. I have always reformatted the hard drive on new pc's so that it will be a clean OS install only. So that there is what I want on it not Dell or any one else. So being new to Vista how does microsoft regulate formats reinstalls ect... ? Is this something that is do able?
Thanks for your time.

So You've Purchased Another Vista OS To Reinstall?
Oct 13, 2007 3:15PM PDT

Since most of the new computers come with OEM operating system installations included in their Recovery Discs, if you're looking to remove everything but the OS, you'll need another full Vista disc to install from. In addition, you'll need to find all the appropriate drivers for that machine.. As long as you have that, you shouldn't have a problem other than installing the SATA drivers if they're not included. (Not always a simple task on the new laptops that don't have a floppy drive.)

Hope this helps.

YES IT HELPS

Yes as I thought just want to be sure that Vista does not give 1 reinstall or worse no reinstall. I have not bought a Dell in oh 3 yrs but usally there high end models always came with the full blown version. Guess we will see. If not I will do a little or alot of reconfig and uninstall.
Thanks
