None can withstand what we do to them.

Since its new, let them fix it.

What other post?

There is only the ASIO note which I think you are talking about Creative Labs drivers, but with just this post, it seems you want a bulletproof OS.

So far, it's not on a PC you find in a store.

Your post is light on details.

Try to Build your own
Dec 20, 2004 1:15PM PST

Hp is not a bad company for computers, they are priced pretty good. Since you dont like them, you should try to build your own. Currently im using a computer i built 2 years ago and it still works great. You said you like playing games alot and i do too. It still runs pretty decent on games like counter strike and a few others like ff 12. If you can't build your own, you could try companies that build pcs just made for gaming. My brother in law just got a really good gaming computer from alienware. He got the area 51 pc for like $1900 and its one of the best ive ever used. I tried running quake 3 and hl 2 and it runs smoothly. If you want to check it out http://www.alienware.com/product_detail_pages/Area-51_5550/area-51_5550_features.aspx?from=jimmy18:SysCode=PC-AREA51-5550&SubCode=SKU-DEFAULT

You need to resolve problems
Dec 20, 2004 6:48PM PST

As an end-user excluding actual real vendor problems, must address any OS, drivers, updates, etc. new installs and the like before blaming the vendor. Your post makes no mention other than buying new another system to resolve your problem(s). You should be aware of defragging, cleaning old installs after removal, spyware/malware issues, any Kazza type file sharing enviroments, etc. plus start-up loading pgms,. robbing resources. In other words, get your "system in order" to attempt intense tasks. Gaming and/or multi-media based system will demand alot from the system and the less overhead it has to deal with the better the results. On top of all this, having a well cooled and stable power source is an "absolute must". Looking into better power beyond what was offered is defenitely a plus. Cooling issues address many later problems due to failed fans or yet more h/w installs(stuffed system) can create havoc under "heat duress", so expect sooner or later flaky problems to arise. OEM based system tend to offer "a system/model" and later additions will likely start the downgrade process with current installed p/s unit, they don't offer much room to grow on. I hope this helps...

good luck Happy -----Willy

ITS BROKEN
Dec 20, 2004 11:01PM PST

My other post is Hp computers in this section. The harddrive is broken there is no spywhare or anything I have windows firewall and nrten antivirus I also have addaware and spybot.

All im asking here is which brand of pcs wont break in a month or a year and make me go through this agean. I cant defrag or scan this harddrive it wont let me. I did scandisk on it and it wouldent go past %0 on the third step.

I have resolved cooling problems by placing it next to a window so it can suck the cold air from outside into it.

If i try and defrag this harddrive or put it under in entense task it will lock up compleatly and ill have to restart.
