Question

New PC build starts for about 10 seconds then shuts off

Jun 21, 2017 1:00AM PDT

Hello all,

I have just built a new $3,000 custom pc build. This was my first build so it took a long time. Once the build was finished, I booted the system up with and installed Windows 10 via a thumb drive.

After windows 10 was successfully installed and updated, I went to the settings to check the drivers. Since I have no optical drive to insert the driver discs into for the graphics card and motherboard, I was unsure about how to advance.

In the driver list, I noticed my cpu cooler, H100i V2, driver needed to be updared. I went online and properly updated that. I then began installing Aviria antivirus after reading an article about the best free antivirus software.

I then decided to install Steam for pc gaming. Steam downloaded correctly and began updating when my computer blue screened. It was giving me a win32k.exe error, a software issue.

I turned the computer off and since then have not been able to boot the pc. After around 10 seconds, the pc shuts back off. There is no beeping and no display on the monitor.

If anyone could help I'd really appreciate it!

How could you spend $3K and fail to put in an DVD drive?! Too bad or you could try booting to a LIVE DVD of linux or anything bootable just to see if the problem is software or hardware related. If you installed W10 from a flashdrive, can you boot from it again?

You need the machine to stay powered on.
Start making it smaller.
You don't need any disk, unplug that.
You don't need any video cards, remove.
You don't need any ram, remove.
Test.
