I have been in the market for a relatively inexpensive videocamera. I'm sold on the miniDV format (for quality). My question is, are the older models that can be bought used cheaply better or worse than new ones such as the Canon 950 or Sony HC62? Digital technology has greatly improved in general, but I'm not sure if that's the case with videocameras. Analog technology hasn't changed much (such as turntables), but digital seems to get better and cheaper. Older videocameras seem to have better build quality and also seem to have more features. I got a used Canon Elura 20mc and had the chance to compare it to a relative's Sony TVR-27 and, while the Elura wasn't bad, the Sony was better in almost every way.
