New/Old build power but no display/bios

May 15, 2012 12:35PM PDT

Hi,
I got a computer from a company that was giving them away for free. I upgraded it to vista. The system worked well for normal tasks such as the internet and email, but problems started happening when I wanted to load minecraft on it. Being a company computer it was fairly simple and didn't have the mobo capabilities to upgrade the video card(no slot). So I still wanted to get it working. I had an older computer (early 2000s) that the hard drive went corrupt and I never had the reason to fix it. It was also a custom build which was pretty powerful then and is about normal now. I then choose to take the hdd from the weaker computer and place it in the more powerful mobo. I got all the connections hooked up, plugged it in and now it will turn on but there is no display, no bios, no nothing. I know the monitor(32in samsung tv) works but not much more. I need help.
It has...
400w Dynex Power Supply
80gb wd hdd
3.3ghz Intel (not sure exact name)
GeForce 6200 LE video card
1gb ram corsair (2x 512mb)
Asus P4R800-V mobo

Any Ideas?

I have already tried removing RAM, no result; Hdd, no result; and cleaning cpu ports, no results. Oh and I also tried it on a different monitor.

That sounds like the boards I ran into a whole lot of them with BAD CAPS.

Did you google BAD CAPS and inspect for that?
