I just started looking at buying a new notebook, as mine crashed and i'm just plain fed up with it. I did have a Dell Inspiron 5100 and it worked well up until about 3 months ago. Anyways, I've had a bunch of people tell me that I should look at apple laptops, namely the 14' iBook and the 12' Powerbook. Everyone I know who has these notebooks loves them, and I have yet to hear of their downfalls.
However as a long time windows user, I'm wondering how much of a change a mac would be.
I'm a college student, and for the most part all I use my notebook for is school stuff, internet, movies (occasionally) and music and picture storage. I'm not all that big on games, but since I do a lot of writing and such, I need something that's going to be comfortable enough to spend an ample amount of time working on.
I was also wondering how well they work with windows programs, or what I would need to get to have them work with windows programs. (Word, Powerpoint, etc.)
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
