I am experiencing gray horizontal lines across my screen......do I need a new video card or a new monitor? I have a Nvidia Vanta driver.

Borrow someone else's monitor and swap it in...It sounds like monitor problems to me...but swapping in a replacement should tell you quickly.

Hope this helps.

Video card

I had the same problem. Swapping monitor did not help. But a new video card did the trick. However, had some trouble with the video card software -- something about "nwiz".

Also learned that AGP card looks the same on the outside as the PCI. So I bought the PCI before discovering that I had AGP. Swaped out the modem PCI to make room and use this anyway! Working so far.
