New Mac................. old import problems!

May 13, 2008 6:47AM PDT

I have a new Macbook I have set up the admin user account as the only account on the machine.

When I use migration assistant to get my files from my old machine it creates a new account for me and puts it all in there.

How to I get it all to go into the new main user account? (the one that's highlighted in the "Users" folder on the HD).

Any suggestions welcome

Thanks

Not sure you can do that,

the migration assistant works best when the is NO user account on the target machine and as part of the initial setup procedure. The part that asked if you had data to be moved from an old Mac.

When activated, it will create a new account, with the same name as that on the old machine, and transfer the setting and other stuff.

If you have an account on the new machine that has the same name as the account(s) on the old machine, Migration Assistant throws a hissy fit and says there is already an account of this name.

More research required on this one
