We love you insiders.

You help us avoid the pain of bad updates. Please accept a virtual chocolate cookie for your efforts. That aside, I only use edge if my other browsers play up.

it is using chromium to power it Happy still will not use it. since it is still in beta time will tell if it is actually faster. browsers tend to get slower when adding other features and extensions.

Chromium backend.

New Edge feels entirely different, thanks to its Chromium backend.

It’s not yet clear when Microsoft will make this new version of Edge available publicly, but given the most recent internal builds are stable and work well, it’s likely to arrive very soon.

Here are few steps to upgrade your Edge browser:
Click the Start button.
Click Settings.
Select "Updates & Security.
Click "Windows Update"
Click "Check for updates" Windows 10 will connect to Microsoft and check for any updates. If they are found, they will be installed and you will get the latest version of Edge.

Akshay

I googled download the Chrome based Edge and installed it. It installs and doesn't touch the current Edge. I'm testing it on my work laptop and no issue been about a week and I use it as my main browser.
