Aug 4, 2016 1:28PM PDT

I just bought a 310 lenovo ideapad laptop. It didn't come with an OS so i installed my old fujitsu laptop's windows 7 dvd.Now in Control Panel\System and Security\System in manufacturer part it says "fujitsu technology" there is a fujistu logo and there's nothing about lenovo. Is this a problem?

ps:When installing win 7 i formatted and deleted system partition by mistake.

That's expected.

What your old laptop OS was is called an OEM version. It only works on it's own hardware.

So it wasn't supposed to work. What other OS do you have?

Answer
Fujitsu

Other than the name being wrong does the machine function?

I suspect your going to get a message from msft about an illegal copy of windows.

You might want to contact lenovo and see if you can buy the factory restore media for that machine.

Answer
Not legal os

You CANNOT legally install Fujitsu OEM into another computer. It is only good for the computer it came with. You will have to purchase a full retail version of an operating system or you may be able to get factory disks at a reduce cost. Your laptop is NOT eligible for any oem, system builders or upgrade versions of windows.

Answer
I would contact Lenovo

because they don't sell ship PC's to retailers without an OS. I would also contact where you bought it.
