New Laptop Crapware help!

Nov 30, 2009 1:17PM PST

Hello, I recently bought a new acer aspire timeline 5810T-8929 series laptop. Im just wondering on what stuff i can and cannot delete. Ive already deleted most of the free trial stuff and a whole bunch of other nonsense i just need to know what else i can get rid of.
heres a list of all the programs in my program file list (please let me know which ones are important and which ones i can delete):
-acer assit
-acer backup manager
-acer crystal eye webcam
-acer grid vista
-acer registration
-acer screensaver
-acer vcm
-adobe air
-atheros communications inc (r)
-compatibility pack for the 2007 office suite
-esobi v2
- intel matrix storage manager
-launch manager
-mcaffe security center
-MSXML 4.0 SP2
-MyWhinLocker
-NTi Backup Now 5
-NTI media maker 8
-orion
-rainbow web
-windows live essentials
-windows live sign in assistant
-windows live sync
-windows live upload tool

I know some of these are pretty self explanatory but i put them on the list anyways. It would be greatly appreciated if you guys could help me out a bit and maybe even give a small description on what some of these programs do would be very helpful
thanks

I would never get rid of anything by Intel.

NTI stuff is for creating DVD or Cd's. Acer web Cam is for your web camera. McAffee is security which you probally have for a limited time period. (it keeps your pc secure). Rainbow web is for games on the web. If you want wireless you better not touch atheros communications. The Acer stuff you may or may not wat or need. I would try them out and decide.

I found only 2 that needed more research.

We have the Acer and of that list only 2 didn't look familiar. -orion
-rainbow web look new so tell what they do. The rest are common to have on Acer and if not Acer the other makers put such on to give backup, antivirus and such to the machines. I don't see crapware that is unless you defined it as software that didn't come with a clean install of Vista.
