New Laptop advice

I am currently in my last year of high school and will go onto university to study Computer Science.
As a hobby i also like to work on photoshop and other adobe tools. i plan to take some courses related to this down the line.
To have a fresh start I will be buying a new laptop, so if you could please give me some options which would be great for programming and visual effects.

Well it depends if you want to use

this laptop to take notes at class. If that's the case you may select a more mobile device like a Dell XPS or Surface. If the laptop is going to set on a desk you could go with a quad core more powerfull pc like an MSI, Alienware or Asus gaming machine.

Check with your school.

Depending on your U. path the U. department may have specs for the laptop required and some even crank the device into tuition/fees. In ant case you will find excellent prices at the institution book store.
If you have the $$$$$ Microsoft Surface Book would be my choice for battery life, power and portability.
If you have $$$ then the Surface Pro.
