New Laptop

Price : $400 - $550
RAM : 3GB, Preferably 4GB
Processor: Looking for Intel Core 2 Duo to i3
Screen: They don't want a crunched keyboard, so 15.6" (hopefully)

Uses: Videos, Microsoft Word, E-Mail, etc. No need for gaming.

Also want good battery life. She moves it around a lot, and it can't always be plugged in. I'd take battery life > speed.

At this price you hit the laptop pickers in this forum and see what you get. While the Acer Timeline and TimelineX are notable for 8 and more hours, when you drop the price this low your choices are slim.

Try the laptop pickers at the top of this forum.
