Hey all. I just built a new system from a barebones kit and when I went to boot it up it started to POST then powered down halfway through the process. Trying again got it to stay on through the POST process into Windows configuration, but then it shut off again. A third try got 90% through formatting the hard drive (150GB... took at least 30 minutes), but then same power cut. Hope it didn't wreck my drive.
When it does randomly power down, the green power LED on the motherboard remains lit, as does the numlock LED on the keyboard... suggests there's still some power flowing.
Any ideas as to the cause? It could be heat, but I have two case fans in addition to the CPU, GPU and PSU fans... removing the cover and blowing a housefan through the system doesn't help either.
System specs are as follows:
Athlon 64 3200+

Diablotek GeForce 6800 GS 512MB

150GB Maxtor SATA HD
Pint-size luxury and funky style
