Hi, MK.

Yes, we only need about 2.9 million more between now and November to be where we were when Bush took office. Of course, that ignores the effects of population growth, or that the pay and benefits of the average new job are substantially lower than those of the lost job it replaces. Let's put it this way -- I don't expect Bush to be using Reagan's question about being better off than four years ago in any of this year's debates, though he may well have to answer it.

I don't understand what's going on. A lot of members here in SE wanted a war to benefit the economy and increase the amount of jobs. Why don't we have more jobs?

Or a better economy for that matter.
