new ipod woes from a poor grad student in Puerto Rico

by marigb / August 30, 2007 11:31 PM PDT

I have been dreading this since march. A new ipod model...
I am currently a poor grad student in Puerto Rico, so most of my shows, I get the season pass because of school scheduling conflicts I cant catch them when they air, and I get them off of Itunes and take them with me so when I have some free time at the lab (which has limited access to the outside internet), I just relax and watch them on my video ipod that my ex gave me. I have 3 fav shows, which i wont say their name, (ok lost, heroes, The office and Ugly betty), which are a) expensive if you get the pass but more economic if you get them this way than to get the single episode every week.

When the iphone was announced and shipped, it was bittersweet because it looked so gorgeous that I just had to have it and saved my money to get the device... and then it was announced in Puerto Rico that ATT would not be carrying it in Puerto Rico ( have no idea why, because we are a part of US). I was so heartbroken. Of course school started back up and well my savings gone (tuition and books) and took that pain semi- away. But then ipod rumors with the feel of the iphone....oh dear lord. Of course the people who have an iphone or people who can buy one its no big deal...but for the rest of us.... im stuck with my little savings which are just enough to get the passes, wanting the new ipod (mainly so I can replace my old ipod which was given to me by my ex and well I feel bad of using still after we broke up). A new ipod would give me something new to feel good about doing my masters (electr.engi) and just be able to move on from that relationship. BUT AT WHAT COST!!!!!!!!?????? BOL is not on tuesday so where to find updates as they are happening...oh well
Keep up the good work and have been a faithful listener since late 2005...when I first got my ipod.........

Food for thought

I don't understand why so much people from Puerto Rico keep buying IPOD products. first of all, you CAN'T create an account using an address from PR. second, if you decide to buy a gift card, YOU can't activate it because you NEED AN ITUNES ACCOUNT. And third, as i understand they don't have plans to change this.

Hello, if they sell the product here, why we can't have the same privileges than USA, are they better than us. HEY GUYS WAKE UP, there are other BETTER options like ZEN VISION.

in addition to this, ZEN VISION include FM radio. FOR THE SAME PRICE.

well, I'm aware that we are part of USA but but i think that ITUNES don't read their history books. I'm sure that they don't accept Puerto Rico's address because my neighbor bought it and when he call ITUNES for support they told him that ITUNES WASN'T AVAILABLE FOR PUERTO RICO.. I EVEN HAVE THE EMAIL .....

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
