Yes. But the owner had "formatted" the drive ahead of the Windows 2000 install. They were not sure hwo they had done this, but I'd just start over. Remove all partitions, and use the Win2k CD to do the clean install.
Be sure your BIOS is uptodate and default values to avoid issues. Be sure you use a factory Windows 2000 CD since I've seen bad installs from customized CDs.
Has anyone encountered my problem?
After completing assembly of a custom computer I tried to load Widwows 2000 Prof. as the operating sys. It works fine until it gets to the first re-boot and then it starts the installation process all over again.
System is 2.4 Intel eleronCPu, 512 mb.mem., 60gb h/drive, 52x28x52 CD burner. 64 mb SEC graphics card, Creative Sound Blaster sound card, and 56Kv92 modem.
Any help on this problem would be greatly appreciated. Have tried installing additional CD for 2000, and all do the same thing.
Have also tried removing the Cd just before the re-boot - does not work either.
Many thanx for your help
