and the specs of the iMac at Apple, I would say that the processor is the Intel Core2 Extreme dual-core mobile processor x7800.
This processor has 4 MB of shared L2 cache, the Quad-Core has 8 MB, and an 800Mhz FSB. (Not mentioned at the Apple site)
Now, to answer your next question.
It could be considered quite likely that we will see a Quad-Core iMac at some time, but I would not hold my breath.

Hi all,
As much as I love the new iMac's im frustrated at the vagueness of the specs.
We all know the top end model is a 2.8GHz Intel Core2Extreme.
Those who are interested in purchasing one might even realise that the Intel Core2Extreme line of processors are available in both duo and quad core configurations.
Does Anyone know if the chipset here is a DUO or QUAD core?
Thanks for all your help.
