"New" (Homebuilt) Computer

by minimoto18 / October 2, 2010 3:52 AM PDT

A while back I built this computer, and the card reader (VANTEC UGT-CR905) didn't work all the time. Now, I noticed that when I get a message saying something like, "this device can perform faster if you connect it to a hi-speed USB port," then the card reader works fine. When I was installing the card reader the plug didn't fit right in the port (too big) so I used an adapter looking thing to connect it to the motherboard. How can I fix it so I can use the card reader right away? (messages appears .5-2 hours after start-up)

All I can see is "interface" is USB. You said it is NOT the regular usb connector then how about some detail description for us, and what kind of adapter are you talking about.

I mean the USB connector for the motherboard. If you look at the picture on newegg were everything is laid out, the little blue plug (by the mobo) is the "adapter" I'm talking about. I plugged that into the blue ports on the right of the mobo in the picture.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
