You seem to have it well covered. Just post back any questions you might have once the gear arrives. The Energies will be a good entry level speaker system for your needs from the sounds of it.
One cable often overlooked is the additional digital optical cable (toslink) sometimes used from HDTV back to AV receiver. It's $5 @ monoprice.com or Amazon, btw. Definitely grab one.
Keep in mind that things like ARC rarely work as advertised.
cheers
Looking to put together an affordable home theater system. Nothing too crazy, already have the TV, looking to add a surround sound system and want to make sure I'm not overlooking anything.
The TV is a VIZIO D-Series 55" Class 4K Ultra HD Full‑Array LED Smart TV (Model No. D55u-D1)
From CNET reviews, I found the Energy Take Classic 5.1 surround system, which sounds like a good fit for me based on performance/budget. Not overly concerned with aesthetics as long as the speakers aren't gigantic.
Sounds like I should also be looking into an AV Receiver, correct? From CNET reviews, I found the Denon AVR-S510BT 5.2 Channel Full 4K Ultra HD AV Receiver with Bluetooth.
My main concern is to make sure all of the components are compatible as there are way too many tech specs for me to sort through with my limited background. Also, are there other alternative products that would be better suited for me? Or any other components that I will need for the system (other than wires for everything)?
Some other background, the room everything is going in won't be that large (probably small to medium size). I will also be looking to hook up a PS4, cable connection, and iPhone/laptop for music.
Thanks, I appreciate any feedback!
